Doha Toastmasters (DTM ) recently conducted the investiture ceremony of the 21st Executive Committee. Led by TM Abdul Nassar P, the newly elected President along with seven officers were sworn in for the term 2016-17. The ceremony was conducted by former club president Toast Master Subair Pandavath. Also present on the occasion were DTM Sonny Varghese, a founding member of the club, District 20 Finance Manager DTM Rajeshwar Sundaresan, Division E Director TM Ravi Kumar, Division Q Director DTM Raghavan, Division E Director (Elect) DTM Virendranath, Division Q Director (Elect), TM Thayalan, Divison T Director (Elect), TM Abhijit Kuwalekar, Division S Director (Elect), DTM Gil Bangalan, Area 28 Director TM Dinesh Kumar, DTM Dr MS Babu and Division E Assistant Director TM Girish Jain.
On the occasion, the outgoing committee members and many veteran club members and advisors were also felicitated. Doha Toastmasters Club has won many awards, under the able leadership of TM Yoosaf Vanarath. The club is now one of the top ten Toastmaster clubs in the Middle East.
Incoming president TM Abdul Nassar P assured the senior officials and club members that he would do his best to maintain the rich legacy of the club taking the club to further heights. The newly elected committee members include TM Sandeep Kinge - Education VP, TM Chandrashekhar Dudhe - Membership VP, TM Niloufer Samal - Public Relations VP, TM Sandhaya Premchand - Secretary, TM Afajal Ahmed Treasurer, TM Nagaraja Sekar - Sergeant at Arms and TM Yoosaf Vanarath, - Immediate Past President.
The special focus of the meeting was on the Holy Month of Ramadan. Veteran Toastmaster Safeer Azeez was the keynote speaker and he highlighted the importance of peace, mercy and blessings in his speech 'Ramadan and Fasting'. The meeting concluded in time for the evening prayers and was followed by a sumptuous Iftar dinner.
