BJP State unit president B.S. Yeddyurappa, who returned to Bengaluru, seems to be in no mood to heed to the demand by disgruntled party leaders. On Wednesday, he categorically ruled out any revision in the list of State and district office-bearers by maintaining that the appointments had been made after wide consultations.
“There could be a few leaders who are angry over not getting any positions. It is not possible to accommodate everybody since the party is growing by leaps and bounds,” he said. He, however, said he would see if they could be accommodated in some of the cells of the party.
Mr. Yeddyurappa also appointed in-charge leaders for various districts on Wednesday. But this too came under criticism by party old-timers, who accused him of appointing political leaders as in-charge persons instead of the tradition of choosing organisational persons for such posts.
Mr. Yeddyurappa also announced to convene a meeting of the State office-bearers and district presidents on July 2 to chalk out various agitations against the Congress government.
