These Sneakers Will Put the Fear of God In Your Style (Literally)

Fear Of God founder Jerry Lorenzo has been on one hell of a mission to make a great pair of sneakers. He started his quest with a few inspirations—from military boots to running sneakers—but solidifying them into a finished product wasn't easy. In fact, it took Lorenzo over a year (and roughly 437 trips to Italy) to get the "military sneakers" to a place where they were dope enough to release to the world. Since we first saw them last October we've been drooling over them, but now they're finally here. Trust us, they were definitely worth the wait.

What makes these sneakers not your average high-end designer shoe is that it isn't just a streamlined rubber-soled sneaker done-up in Italian leather and priced at $500. (Not that we have anything against some minimalist sneakies.) So while these ultra hi-tops retail for a price that might actually put the fear of god in you ($1,095), take into account that they're a completely fresh amalgamation of multiple influences, built from the ground up by an independent label. They've also just enough customizable goodness—a removable strap, three pairs of laces, a side zip that can be worn up or down—to make them unique to each wearer (without going full choose your own adventure). But no matter which way you style 'em (though we might suggest with a pair of Fear Of God jeans), know these are the rare show-stopping sneaker that will elicit head turns and our favorite ego-boosting question: "Oh my god, who makes get those?"

$1,095, available in store now at select retailers.
