50.83 km road length macadamized in Tral during last fiscal: Sunil Sharma

Minister of State for R&B, Mr. Sunil Sharma, today said 50.83 km of road length has been macadamized in Tral constituency during last financial year.Replying to Calling Attention Notice by Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah in Legislative Assembly regarding the dilapidated condition of the roads in Tral constituency, a road length of 231.55 kms is being maintained by R&B Department in Tral constituency, Mr. Sharma informed."Due to wear and tear and especially due to the floods of September 2014 and flash floods of 2015, the road surface got damaged adversely.   Out of 14 kms Tral-Satoora road first 8 kms  are in dilapidated condition and the balance length from km 9th onwards is of blacktop status. 

The improvement of first 8 km is proposed to be taken-up during current financial year by way of Water Bound Macadam (WBM) Grade-II in patches and stretches," the Minister said.Mr Sharma said 8-km Tral -Nagbal road having damaged blacktop surface is proposed to be improved by way of providing Water Bound Macadam (WBM) Grade-II in patches and stretches during the current financial year."Of the 9-km Tral Batnoor road with dilapidated blacktop surface, the first 6 km have been improved by the way of Water Bound Macadam (WBM) Grade-II in patches and stretches during the current financial year," Mr Sharma added.The Minister said that the 2-km Batagund-Gang road was deteriorated in 2014 flood, "it has been restored temporarily by way of Granular Sub Base (GSB) filling," he informed.
