Minister of State for R&B. Mr. Sunil Sharma today said the widening of road from Qamerwari to Parimpora in Srinagar has not been completed due to whopping financial implications.Replying to Calling Attention Notice by Mr. Noor Mohammad Sheikh in the Legislative Assembly regarding the non-completion of Qamerwari  Parimpora road, the Minister said the work on the road was started  during  2008-09 at an estimated cost of Rs. 5235.39 lakhs."The expenditure of Rs. 1729.39 lakhs has been incurred on the road which includes Rs. 1379.39 lacs as development cost and Rs. 350.00 lacs as acquisition of land cost. The work from RD 500 -2170 stands completed including widening of culvert and the acquisition proceedings had commenced in the year 2011-2012," Mr Sharma added.Compensation amount has also been paid to the stakeholders/ landowners/ interested persons, MoS informed.The Minister said against the requirement of Rs. 3856.00 lakhs as acquisition cost, Rs. 350.00 lakhs have been released till date. "It is noteworthy to mention that the allocation for land acquisition during 2015-16 for the entire Kashmir province was only Rs. 10.00 crores," Mr. Sharma added.
