It is very disappointing how the patients of HIV & Aids are treated in South Africa yet we are being told everywhere to go and test for HIV & AIDS. We know some of these people have done bad things in life to get where they are but some didn't. Remember there are people who got this through rape, some were born with it and so on. But they shouldn't be reminded of all this every moment and mostly by people who committed themselves to helping these people. I'm talking about nurses.
I once went to the clinic for a flue in Moleleki,Katlehong and to be honest I was deeply disappointed and hurt to see how people are treated when known that they are HIV positive. Why it is so important for one to go to a private room when testing while they know they will expose you after finding out that you are HIV positive? I have seen patients at clinic being divided as they have a queue for those fetching ARV's. What happened to "ones status is a secret". Congrats to all who are brave enough to publicly unveil their status. But clinics and hospitals should know that it is not on everybody's interest to unveil it. Now people are being scared to test or admit their status because of continuous bad treatment from nurses.
