Highly placed sources said here today that the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) had given its mandatory permission to Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to start fission process. Officials from the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change were likely to visit KKNPP complex tomorrow to have an on the spot study and would submit its report to the Supreme Court following which the fission process will commence.
