It's not just the production hands that got changed when the mythological show '
Radha Krishna' went in for a revamp, but even its plot and cast. The show, which was to be originally produced by
Dheeraj Kumar, was later handed over to mythological expert
Siddharth Kumar Tewary. He changed the plot by turning it into a teenage love story and got the original cast replaced, including
Preetika Rao as
Radha and
Avinesh Rekhi as Krishna.
In the new order,
Sumedh Mudgalkar, who was seen in a negative role of
Susima in '
Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat', has bagged the role of Krishna and newbie
Mallika Singh will be seen as Radha. Informs a source working on the project, "Despite
Sumedh having played a negative role in his last show, the producer was convinced that he could be the new Krishna on TV. They have full faith that he will be accepted as Lord Krishna. As this is Mallika's debut role, she will undergo a workshop. The creator of the show, Siddharth, doesn't want to leave any stone unturned to make it a hit with the audience."
Tewary and his actors, Sumedh and
Mallika remained unavailable for comment.
