Swedish Footballer Gets Red Card for Farting Too Loudly

The Swedish football player Adam Ljungkvist was sent off for farting too loudly in referee Dany Kako’s general direction.

“I perceived it as deliberate provocation, he did it on purpose and it was inappropriate. Therefore, he received a [second] yellow card,” Kako said.

The Swedish player denied all accusations insisting that he didn’t mean to offend anyone.

“I needed to fart; I had a bad stomach, so I just farted. Then I received a yellow card and then a red,” he told Swedish newspaper Lanstidningen Sodertalje.

“The referee may have thought that I farted in my hand and threw it towards him, but he didn’t say,’ Ljungkvist further explained.

“I asked the referee: “What am I not allowed to break wind a little?” He replied “no”.”

The footballer was playing left-back for Pershagen SK, as his team lost 6-2.
