Mangaluru to host mela on Sunday

The Savayava Krishi Grahaka Balaga has organised a jackfruit mela in Mangaluru on July 3 to introduce a variety of jackfruits, their delicacies, value additions and many more.

The mela will be held at Balambhatta Hall near Sharavu Temple between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. On the occasion, Jofee, a coffee made from jackfruit seeds, by Archie’s Kitchen, Pandeshwar, will be released.

The event will also see the introduction of over 25 products from Kadamba Marketing Souharda Sahakari of Sirsi, including Joni Bella and Appemidi pickle.

The mela will have fruits from Chowta’s Garden, Chandra Halasu from Tumakuru, jackfruit chips from Modern Kitchen of Yeyyadi, jackfruit products of Mounesh Mallya, Halasina gatti made by members of Savayava Balaga, machine-made Jackfruit happala, jackfruit ice-cream from Kaje Vrikshalaya, jackfruit halwa of Venkatakrishna Sharma and many more.

Different varieties of Jackfruit saplings and other saplings is also arranged on the occasion, said a release. Call 9448835606 for details.
