Hyderabad: Teen hacker blackmails woman, held

The teenager has twice been sent to juvenile homes earlier in similar cases registered in Maharashtra, based on complaints of two aspiring models.

Back in May, a 23-year-old manager at a top MNC had received the shock of her life when a stranger sent her personal photographs and videos on her WhatsApp account and threatened to make them public unless he was paid money.

Realising that her email, Facebook and iCloud accounts had been hacked, the woman lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad on May 7.

Investigations led the police to a 17-year-old boy from Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh, who had hacked into the woman’s accounts.

The teen was nabbed and brought to Hyderabad, where a court sent him to a juvenile home on Tuesday.

On May 5 and 6, the woman from Hyderabad received alerts on her secondary email account, first notifying her of a login into her primary gmail account, and then her Facebook and iCloud accounts as well. The hacker then changed her recovery email account and mobile number.
