Ludhiana: Six masked miscreants entered an ATM at Gill Road on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, and held the security guard captive. They, however, failed to get cash out of the machine and fled from the spot, injuring the security guard. According to information from the police department, the miscreants struck at the ATM at around 1.30am.
First, two of them entered the ATM and held the security guard captive. They also sprayed paint on the security cameras.
SHO Shimlapuri police station Sanjeev Kapoor said miscreants tried to cut the ATM with the help of a gas cutter, but they failed to get the cash out. The frustrated miscreants then injured the guard with some sharp-edged weapon and fled from the spot. Meanwhile, the guard also raised an alarm and the loot bid failed. Kapoor said a case had been registered against the unidentified miscreants, and the police has initiated the investigation.
