Traders robbed of cash, valuables worth Rs2 lakh
Nagpur: Jaipal Budhani and his cousin were returning to their residence at Bank Colony in Jaripatka from Gandhibagh on scooter after closing their business for the day when they were robbed of valuables, worth more than Rs2 lakh by two bike-borne robbers on Dr Ambedkar Marg in Pachpaoli on Monday. The Pachpaoli police have registered a case of robbery against two unidentified persons.
Budhani and his cousin were carrying Rs30,000 cash along with the valuables which were robbed by the duo.
The bikers had first intercepted the traders before decamping with the valuables wrenching the bag in possession of Budhani.
Man robbed at knifepoint
Rajesh Gumel, 46, was forced to cough up Rs500 by accused Ashish Bhargav on Monday near Golibar Square. The victim was heading to a pan kiosk when Bhargav threatened him at knifepoint to part with the cash. Following a complaint from Gumel, Tehsil police have registered a case of extortion under Arms Act against Bhargav. He is learnt to be a habitual criminal.
