The Milwaukee Brewers designated outfielder Alex Presley for assignment Tuesday and recalled utility man Jake Elmore from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Presley, who signed as a free agent with Milwaukee this past December, played in 47 games for the Brewers, batting .198 with three home runs. He started 21 games in May, but had since seen his playing time squeezed. In June, Presley appeared in 14 games with only two starts, and was 2 for 18 (.111).

For Elmore, who signed with the Brewers on the same day as Presley, this will be his fifth major-league team in five seasons. He has also played with Arizona, Houston, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay. In 138 major-league games, Elmore has a career .215 batting average.

Elmore was batting .320 with a .428 on-base percentage for the SkySox, spitting his time primarily between second base and the outfield, although he also saw a handful of games at third base.
