Aspiri Spirits recently held a master class on bartending by Nils Boese, bartender and brand ambassador, Jägermeister, at Bandstand, New Delhi. The class saw Boese interacting with Indian bartenders. He took informed them about Jägermeister history and shared insights about the company and the brand. In the two-hour session, Boese showcased what drinks could go well with the Indian taste and palate. Speaking to Food & Hospitality World about his first trip to India, Boese shared, “I think Indian bartenders have an added advantage because they are very good at spoken English. They could represent the country at international level and showcase their talents on bigger platforms.”

Boese has 25 years of experience and owns a small bar in Hildesheim,Germany which is close to Wolfenbüttel, where Jägermeister is produced. The bar doesn’t have opening hours or a drinks menu. Guests have to book a reservation in order to drink at his bar. Since there is no menu, the visitor has to inform the bartender about his eating habits and taste preferences, on the basis of which the drink is prepared. Boese has been working with Jägermeister since 2010 as their brand ambassador.

Talking about the India market, Boese opined, “India is very diverse in terms of the food and drinks, especially the Indian herbs and spices are truly game changer when it comes to taste. I believe that Indian bartenders have great potential to experiment with these herbs and spices and create various drinks. The upcoming trends in the India market already show how bartending is picking up and I hope to see more drinks being invented here.”
