Talking to newspersons after meeting the French Ambassador designate Alexander Ziegler who made a courtesy call on the Chief Minister. Mr Narayansamy said that he already had a discussion with the ambassador designate Mr Ziegler in New Delhi. He said Puducherry was under the French regime for quite a long period and the Puducherry government and people maintain a cordial relationship with France, which is helping the development of Puducherry in many ways. The Chief Minister said the Oulgret municipality was identified for the smart city project and sent to the Union Government. But the Union Urban Development ministry has not accepted the proposal. Following this, it was proposed to integrate Puducherry and Oulgret municipality and a proposal was sent to the union government.
