Crystal Palace have made a bid of around £31.5m for Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Sky sources.

The €38m offer amounts to almost two-and-a-half times more than the £12.8m they paid for club-record signing Yohan Cabaye a year ago.

Batshuayi has been the subject of plenty of interest from clubs across Europe after scoring 23 goals in all competitions for a Marseille side that could only manage a 13th-place finish in Ligue 1 last season.

Last month, Marseille boss Franck Passi said Batshuayi - who scored on his European Championship debut in Belgium's 4-0 win over Hungary on Sunday - is expected to leave the Stade Velodrome in the summer.

West Ham made a bid for the highly coveted forward last week, with Juventus and Tottenham also thought to be closely monitoring the player. The 22-year-old was also reportedly attracting interest from Stoke and Newcastle last January.
