Narco smuggler held with 10 kg poppy straw in Ramban

Jammu, Jun 28 (UNI) A Punjab-based smuggler was arrested along with 10 kg poppy straw in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources here today said.
"Acting on a specific information, a 'naka' was laid at South Portal, Jawahar Tunnel and during checking of a Jammu-bound bus last night, police recovered two bags full of poppy straw weighing around 10 Kg from possession of passenger," the police sources added.
The smuggler, identified as Raj Kumar, resident of Nangal Salempur, Jalandhar, Punjab, was arrested on the spot while a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered and investigation started.
