Australia are back to doing what they do best - winning finals of One-Day International (ODI) tournaments. The win against West Indies at the Kensington Oval on Sunday (June 26) was their 57th in tournament finals - a number that is more than two times greater than that won by the next best team. From a precarious 173 for 6, Matthew Wade's fighting unbeaten 57 carried them to a challenging 270 which proved too much for West Indies in the end. The West Indian chase never got going and once Mitchell Marsh took three crucial wickets, there was no way back for the home team.

Stats highlights form the tri-series final:

2 Father - Son pairs with 1000-plus runs in ODI cricket. Geoff Marsh (4357 runs) is the common factor with his sons Shaun (1857) and Mitchell (1024) also crossing the 1000-run mark in ODIs.

50 Catches taken by Marlon Samuels in ODIs. He is the 14th West Indian fielder to reach the landmark. His 184 games taken to the milestone is the second slowest for West Indies after Desmond Haynes's 204 ODIs.

50.11 Difference in the bowling average of Sunil Narine this series against Australia and South Africa. He has figures of 3 for 184 against Australia and 9 for 101 against South Africa.

19 Balls faced by Matthew Wade against Sunil Narine in this match. He scored 11 runs. In six previous innings against Narine, Wade scored only 10 runs off 38 balls and was dismissed four times.

12 Wickets taken by Sunil Narine in the series is the joint second-most for a West Indies spinner in a home series. Narine took 13 against New Zealand in 2013 while Chris Gayle took 12 against the same opposition in 2002 (both five-match series).

57* by Matthew Wade is the highest score for anyone batting at number seven or below in ODIs played at Kensington Oval. The only other player to score a fifty batting seven or below was Tom Moody, who scored 50 not out against West Indies here in 1999.

270 is the second highest total in an ODI final in West Indies. The only higher total is 281 for 4 (in 38 overs) achieved by Australia against Sri Lanka in the final of World Cup 2007 at the same venue.

15.26 Batting average of Andre Fletcher in 19 innings while opening the batting. Among openers with at least 15 innings, only Xavier Marshall (9.66) and Al Sahariar (11.21) have lower averages.

16 Number of consecutive innings where Mitchell Starc took at least one wicket. The last time he failed to take a wicket (excluding the washout against South Africa earlier in this tournament) was against England, in the final of the tri-series Down Under in February 2015.

11 Wickets for Josh Hazlewood in this series - the only pacer with more than 10 wickets in the series. The other bowlers with ten-plus wickets in the series are Imran Tahir (13), Sunil Narine (12) and Adam Zampa (10).

8 Instances of Australian bowlers taking five-wicket hauls in finals of a tournament. Glenn McGrath did it thrice while Gary Gilmour, Jason Gillespie, Brett Lee, Clint McKay and Josh Hazlewood have all did it once. Gilmour is the only one to do it against West Indies before Hazlewood.

4 Instances of Australian players scoring 30-plus and taking three or more wickets in an ODI final. Greg Chappell (90 & 3/43 vs New Zealand, 1981), Brett Lee (32 & 3/59 vs Sri Lanka, 2012) and Glenn Maxwell (95 & 4/46 vs England, 2015) are the ones to do it before Mitchell Marsh (32 and 3/32).

5 for 50 by Josh Hazlewood is his second best analysis in ODIs following his 5 for 31 against South Africa at WACA in November 2014. He had just one wicket in his three previous ODIs against West Indies.

2 Wins for Australia in the final of a tournament held in West Indies. The first win came in the final of World Cup against Sri Lanka in April 2007 by a margin of 53 runs at the same venue.
