318 ITBP constables pass out of training centre

Three hundred and eighteen constables passed out of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Recruits Training Centre at Iluppaikudi on Monday.

Taking salute at a colourful march past presented by the constables, Deputy Inspector General Austine Eapen urged them to live up to the expectations of the nation and uphold the high tradition, professional standards and name and fame of the ITBP.

He presented trophies to Dhan Singh, Tsewang Namgail, Sonam Gyolpo, Stanzin Angchuk and Vipin Kumar for their outstanding performance in training.

Banwari Lal, second in-command, welcomed the gathering and Ramesh Sharma, Deputy Commandant, proposed a vote of thanks.

The parade was followed by a demonstration of martial arts and coordinated drill.

The Madurai City Police Band participated in the parade.
