Josh Norman finally made it. After playing four seasons in the NFL, staking his claim as one of the top corners in the game last season, and signing a mega contract with the Redskins this offseason, Norman finally made it this week in the form of a lyric.
On DJ Khaled's new single "I got the Keys," Jay Z name drops Norman, as 247 Sports first noted. You can listen to the song here, but it contains NSFW lyrics.
Here's the Norman reference, which occurs right around the 1:10 mark:
"One-on-one with the corner with no safety help. I perform like Josh Norman, I ain't normal."
Look, if we're being completely honest, I know as much about rap as my parents, but this seems pretty cool. Jay Z is Jay Z -- someone I've actually heard of before. With that being said, there's one issue with that lyric:
This is why Jay-Z is overrated. Josh Norman actually played zone and did get help in Carolina's defense. https://t.co/b0GcXl32Gb

Still, Norman's ex-teammates with the Panthers went pretty nuts on Twitter after hearing the song.

Norman, though, wanted them to knock it off.

For whatever it's worth, Norman's former teammates don't seem to be too upset about his unexpected departure this offseason.
