Man injured in stove blast dies

A Nagalwadi resident in Wadi area, Vishnu Vishwanath, who had sustained severe burns after the stove on which he was cooking exploded on June 20, died on Sunday while undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital.

Nagpur: A Nagalwadi resident in Wadi area, Vishnu Vishwanath, who had sustained severe burns after the stove on which he was cooking exploded on June 20, died on Sunday while undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC at Wadi police station.
Body found in Gandhisagar Lake
Body of an unidentified man, in his 50s, was found floating in Gandhi Sagar Lake on Sunday.
The man, around 5.7 ft height and healthy build, was wearing a light shaded trouser and black and green innerwear. Unable to ascertain the identity of the deceased, Ganeshpeth police have sent the body to Mayo Hospital.
Woman dies of burns
A married woman, who had set herself on afire at her Lumbini Nagar residence on June 18, was declared dead on Sunday at Mayo Hospital. The woman’s husband Chandrashekhar Gajbhiye had rushed his wife to the hospital in badly burned condition. The body has been kept at Mayo mortuary. The case has been registered at Jaripatka police station.
11-year-old raped by neighbour
Deepak Shende has been arrested by Yashodhara Nagar police on Sunday for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl from his neighbourhood when she was alone. Shende worked at an automobile garage.

Police said that Shende sneaked into the residence of the rape survivor when she was alone. The girl’s parents, vegetable vendors, had gone to market while her 10-year-old brother had gone to play when the incident took place. Shende, a regular visitor at the girl’s place as a neighbour, forced himself upon her despite her protest. She narrated the incident after parents returned home who alerted the police control room. Yashodhara Nagar police rounded up Shende immediately after the girl’s parents narrated them the incident.
Entrepreneur dupes to the tune of Rs23.72 lakh
A so-called entrepreneur, identified as Prashik Bansod, has duped several persons to the tune of Rs23.72 lakh in a span of four months between December and April this year. The matter was brought to fore by Devidas Mendhe who was duped by Rs3.17 lakh.
Police said that Mendhe had approached Bansod at his office at Ramdaspeth in December last year anticipating to start a business. Bansod had offered him a business in candle making but asked the victim to create a contract before the work begins. Bansod also ensured that Mendhe paid Rs20,000 as security amount. Later, Bansod further took substantial amount from Mendhe as cost towards raw material and for offering him franchise.
After some time, Bansod started avoiding Mendhe and several like him who had invested in the business. Mendhe and others later approached Sitabuldi police with a complaint against Bansod after he became untraceable.
