Mumbai: The first phase of Harilal Bhagwati Hospital in Borivli was inaugurated on Monday after four years and several delays. The 11-storey building that was originally meant to be a Nursing Training Centre will now house a 100-bed medical facility minus any surgical specialty.
It will also have an emergency medical services area with diagnostics facilities such as X-ray and ultrasonography.
Some basic pathology services will also be available. “The hospital will have male and female medical wards but no surgical facility as of now,” said Dr P Jadhav, acting chief of peripheral hospitals.
