AGRA: There seems to be no end of attacks on cops in Agra and neighboring districts. In yet another audacious attack on police, a gang of three men attacked a ‘Cheta unit’ constable who was patrolling on motor-bike near Paliwal park area on Monday early morning.
In the FIR filed by injured cop, constable Udayprakash Singh, “At around 6 am while patrolling near Paliwal park, I saw three youths on a high speed motorcycle.
When I confronted the youths and asked for the driving license, one of the boy, identified as Arbaaz, started verbally abusing me.”
“When I tried to seize his bike, the youth rang up his father Babuddin, who came along a group of men including his brother Minu Malik. The men in group grabbed my uniform from collar and tore it. They all thrashed me, after which I somehow managed to free myself from them and flashed message for help. In few minutes, two ‘Cheta unit’ came on bike and rescued me,” he said.
According to Raja Singh, station officer of Hariparvat, “We have arrested Minu Malik while rest all are absconding. The injured cop has been sent for medical examination.”
As per police, the accused men were booked under IPC section 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).
Similarly, on Sunday, Balkeshwar police outpost in-charge Rakesh Yadav was attacked and his uniform was torn off, by a miscreant detained for creating ruckus in the public place.

Identified as Shyam, the accused was brought to police station by Yadav, when he saw him engaged in arm fight along with his neighbor. The infuriated accused attacked SI Yadav and torn his uniform.
Recently several reports of cops been attacked was highlighted.
On June 22, a sub-inspector was killed and his colleague injured after three unidentified gunmen fired upon them in Binawar area of Badaun. On the same day, a constable was injured with bullet pellet in Faizabad, during encounter with cow smugglers.
On June 10 intervening night, a gang of five men attacked station officer of Rajakarampur in Etah district, who had apprehended an operative of sand-mafia.
On May 30, member of Bajrang Dal led a mob of villagers and attacked police force near Sirsa Tippu Canal of Mirehachi area in Etah, when an oil-tanker smuggling 31 cows for slaughterhouse in Bareilly turned turtle on Kasganj-Etah road, killing 29 bovines instantly.
Farah police station officer Santosh Yadav and SP (City) Mathura Mukul Dwivedi were killed when activists of Swadheen Bharat Subhash Sena (SBSS) opened fire at the police party that attempted to evict it from Jawahar Park late on June 2 evening.
On June 4, a team of eight cops led by Sub inspector Shiv Kumar were attacked by mob in Nagla Maiyar Basiaye Raimal village of Malpura area. The fierce mob damaged the jeep, took away wireless set and torn off cop uniform.
On June 8 late night, a mob led by a village pradhan barged into a police station in Khanduli, attacked the cops (Sub inspector Balveer Singh and constable Dharmendar) on duty and freed their acquaintances, who were taken into custody after they were involved in a brawl.
