Duncan James’ Hollyoaks Debut Delayed Again As He’s Rushed Back To Hospital

Blue star Duncan James has been rushed back to hospital after suffering complications from his recent spinal surgery; forcing Hollyoaks bosses to postpone his debut in the soap for a second time.

The singer and actor underwent an operation for his prolapsed herniated disc, which had damaged his nerve, on June 9. Taking some time to recover from the surgery, Duncan wasn’t released until June 23.

However, after only a few days of returning home, his health deteriorated and he was taken by ambulance to Charing Cross Hospital, where he underwent additional surgery (June 26) and remains under observation.

“We are all concerned for Duncan’s health and wellbeing at this time, but he is in good hands and has a great medical team around him,” a spokesperson fro the star told Huffington Post UK.

He also confirmed that his bandmates – Antony Costa, Simon Webbe and Lee Ryan – are all planning to visit Duncan over the next day or two.

The 38-year-old was due to start filming on the set of Hollyoaks this week in his new role as Amy Barnes’ partner Ryan Knight, but filming will now be rescheduled.

This is the second time that his scenes have been postponed, as producers previously pushed back the schedule by a week allowing him time to recover from his original operation.

We wish Duncan a very speedy recovery as we look forward to having him back on our screens soon!
