Fourth research conference of "Little Scientists" to be held in Pune next month

Pune: The fourth research conference of "Little Scientists" has been organized in Pune on July 28 and 29 by the Moving Academy of Medicine and Biomedicine and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research.
The academy has been conducting a number of hands-on science programmes in village and tribal schools for the last eight years. The conference has been organized to facilitate interaction between students groups who are interested in research.

The conference will have a platform and poster presentations on the research done by "little scientists’’ and interactive sessions with top globally acclaimed scientists. A special feature of this year’s conference is a session on "Innovative Ideas’’ developed by participating students.
The conference is open to secondary school students of class 9 to 12. Those who wish to present their innovative ideas should send an application to the organizers, the title and short summary (150 words). A registration fee of Rs 500 will be charged for students slected for the conference. Admission will be made by a committee of scientists from the two organizations giving even distribution to various schools in Pune region.
Applications have to be sent on plain paper to Dr M G Deo with name, age, sex, mobile number, email id, and marks obtained, and also the reasons (100 words) for attending the conference. Applications can be sent online to mgdmamb@gmail.com. The last date is July 11, according to a press release. The selected candidates (there are only 40 seats), will be informed by July 13, the organizers said. A scanned copy of the demand draft will have to be sent. The organizers said that original DD should not be sent.
