Brown sugar worth Rs 3 cr seized at Mughalsarai
VARANASI: Government Railway Police (GRP) Mughalsarai on Monday arrested two of West Bengal with 1.5 kg of Brown Sugar worth of Rs three crores.
According to inspector GRP Mughalsarai Tripurari Pandey, while carrying out regular checking drive the GRP personnel noticed two youths at platform 7 of Mughalsarai railway station, who tried to escape on looking men in khaki heading towards them.
But, they were caught near western cabin of the railway station. When GRP men checked their bags Brown Sugar was found in it in polythene packets.
Pandey said that the arrested drugs carriers were identified as Mohd Noor Salim Momin and Mohd Ejajul of Malda district in West Bengal. During initial interrogation they divulged that one Firoz and his accomplice Mati Sheikh of Kalichak used to give them Heroin and Brown Sugar after procuring from bordering areas of Bangladesh for supplying it to the drug syndicates indulged in retailing of Heroin and Brown Sugar in Delhi, Ajmer, Punjab and other western states.
