10-Year-Old Meghali Malbika Enters India Book Of Records For Naming 165 Rivers In One Minute!

It's definitely the season of child prodigies. Making their motherland prouder by the day, these wonder kids will surely take the world by storm one day.

This story celebrates a 10-year-old Odisha girl, Meghali Malbika who entered the India Book of Records for naming 165 rivers in one minute.

165 rivers. One Minute. Whoa!

I can't even do the math to calculate the number of rivers she would have named per second to achieve this record!

While praising Meghali, Adjudicator Biswadeep Roy Chowdhury said, "She is no doubt an extremely talented girl with amazing memory. She made a record in the category of 'number of rivers in one minute'. We recorded her voice and a team of experts approved her entry into the record book."

When questioned how she managed to take so many names in so little time, Meghali said, "Names of rivers are easier to pronounce and I can utter more number of river names in a particular time."

That's not all. The talented kid can even tell you the origins of world's major rivers, the countries these flow in, and their tributaries. She can even plot their flow routes on a blank map!

And there's an entire hoard of channels and straits she remembers, in addition to all the heavy-duty information she already knows - good enough to make one dizzy in the head.

She added, "I acquired knowledge about all these from intensive map study. Atlas has been my main source of information. I don't forget things easily and certainly there is no trick in it." Of course not, because, the class V student has also memorized the names of 196 countries in the world, along with all their geographical features.

Meghali also tried to set another record of naming 1,000 rivers in eight minutes time - the results of which are being awaited.

Anyone up for a bet that she'd win it?
