Floyd Mayweather has sparked speculation he is preparing to return to boxing by admitting he would find a lucrative offer hard to resist.
The American retired on 49-0-KO26 in September 2015 and has since insisted he is happy his gloves are hung up - even in the midst of talks over the possibility of an extraordinary cross-code clash with UFC star Conor McGregor.
But now 'Money', who turns 40 in February next year, has told the Los Angeles Times: "For the right price, I may come back.
"A lot of fighters have to box. I don't have to box. I don't have the urge to go to the boxing gym. My urge is giving back to the sport now, helping promote the young fighters.
"People have to realise, when I look at my uncle Roger [Mayweather, who has health issues], and even Muhammad Ali, boxing is wear and tear.
"When I look at it, I'm really thankful I was a defensive fighter. I have all my faculties, a sharp mind, and I know who I am."
Mayweather, who outpointed Andre Berto in his final fight to equal Rocky Marciano's record, has previously hinted it would take a nine-figure sum to draw him out of retirement.
