New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Search engine Google today honoured legendary music composer and unconventional singer Rahul Dev Burman with a doodle on his 77th birth anniversary. Fondly known as Pancham Da, he had started composing music at the age of nine. Pancham Da had composed music for more than 330 movies, which still works as an influence for today’s music composers. Today’s doodle, visible in India and Sri Lanka, carries a colorful portrait of Pancham Da, along with music notes and scenes from some of his famous Bollywood songs in the background. Born in Kolkata on June 27, 1939, he was the only son of music maker Sachin Dev Burman. 'Dada' was a revolutionary composer who changed the aura of Bollywood music with his musical uniqueness. He brought influences from all over the world, from disco, to funk, to cabaret into his music. He died at the age of 54 in 1994 and left a legacy behind, which still inspires generations. Few of the composition of Pancham Da which recalls the era of 70s and 80s are 'Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko' (Yaadon Ki Baraat), 'Duniya Mein Logon Ko' (Apna Desh), 'Mehbooba Mehbooba' (Sholay), 'Dum Maro Dum' (Hare Rama Hare Krishna), 'Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai' (Kaati Patang), 'Jai Jai Shiv Shankar' (Aap Ki Kasam) and many more.
