Defence min visits guru

BHUBANESWAR: It was a pleasant surprise for Prasanta Kumar Patnaik, a retired teacher of IIT Mumbai settled here, on Sunday. One of his most successful students and a defence minister Manohar Parrikar, visited him at his residence in BJB Nagar.
"I was touched by the minister's gesture and felt proud as a teacher. It was a surprise for me," Patnaik was quoted as saying by a BJP leader, who was among those present when Parrikar visited the teacher.
"Feeling blessed to meet my Guru Prof.Patnaik of IIT Mumbai at his residence in Bhubaneswar," Parrikar tweeted after the visit. Patnaik was the direct teacher of the defence minister at IIT Mumbai. Parrikar graduated in metallurgical engineering from IIT Mumbai in 1978.
