IIT-Kanpur
Kanpur: The mood of the students was nostalgic yet vibrant on the eve of the 49th convocation ceremony to be held at the campus of IIT-Kanpur. The campus of IIT-Kanpur had been tastefully decorated. The students were jubilant and charged up for receiving the degrees for which they took part in the rehearsals on Sunday evening in the main auditorium of the institute.
The students who were dressed up in casuals were told about the way of presenting themselves during the time of receiving the medals, prizes and the degrees from the chief guests, director of the institute and the chairman of the board of Governors of IIT-Kanpur.
These overjoyed students paid utmost attention towards the rehearsals and enjoyed every bit of their last few days left on the campus.
The students were excited that they are passing out from one of the finest institutions in the country after a hardwork of four years but at the same time they were dejected that soon they will have to vacate their rooms. To make the last moments very special, these students ensured clicking their pictures with the best of the friends they had made here. They also clicked selfies and posted the same on the social media to keep their account updated.
Shweta Shrivastava who has completed her BTech and would be receiving her degree on Tuesday while talking to TOI said, "We do not wish to leave the campus but cannot stay here for long now. It was a pleasure staying and studying here. We will miss IIT-Kanpur forever in our lives."
Aakanchha and Nikita Agarwal too were nostalgic yet happy for having completed the BTech course. They said, "IIT-Kanpur has changed our overall personality. We are not the same like we had come in the first year of our BTech programme. We are ready to face the outside world with confidence."
Deepika Sachan, Garima Chanalia and Parul Agarwal were also of the same opinion and mentioned that the kind of atmosphere their institute had offered was unmatchable and that they would miss events like Antaragni -the annual cultural fest of IITK and Techkriti- annual technical fest of the institute.
The girl gang said that they have decided to stay in contact forever in their lives and that they would be coming to party during Antaragni scheduled to be held in the month of October this year.
