A husband and wife were killed in a road accident near Nidaghatta, near Maddur, on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway in the district on Sunday evening.
However, their one-year-old child escaped unhurt, Maddur police said. The victims have been identified as Dileep (36) and Abhilasha (30), residents of Bengaluru.
According to the police, they were going to Ms. Abhilasha’s home at Thumbugere near Nidaghatta when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus hit their motorcycle. The police have impounded the bus and are questioning its driver.
The bodies have been shifted to the mortuary of the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences. A case of rash and negligent driving leading to death has been registered at the Maddur police station.
