NGOs told to counsel youths

A seminar was organised to mark International Day Against Drug Abuse here today.

SSP Narendra Bhargav, SP Baljit Singh, former SDM BL Sikka and de-addiction centre in charge Dr Mahesh Kumar urged NGOs to pursue misled youths to visit the de-addiction centre and organise counselling sessions.

Health Department Deputy Controller Dr Prem Bajaj said more than 100 awareness seminars had been organised so far.

He said free treatment was available in all de-addiction centres.

Young artists staged a street play “nashe ne banaya chor, bacha na rasta koi aur” at the district hospital complex in neighbouring Sriganganagar.
