New Delhi:BJP attacked chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP MLAs for their early morning march towards the Prime Minister’s residence and saw their subsequent detention as a ploy to divert attention from their failures.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said that Kejriwal began the process of breaking the constitutional federal structure of Centre-state relations in mid-January, 2014 by trying to hinder the Republic Day celebrations and has thereafter made many attempts to plunge the city administration into a crisis.

“The Kejriwal gang has shamed the democracy. We always knew he had no respect for women but we never knew he would stoop so low as to defend a colleague accused of molesting women,” said Upadhyay.
Upadhyay pointed out that before accusing the central government or police, Kejriwal should realise that Delhi Police acted on the complaint filed by the women, including one Noor Bano, at the instruction of the magistrate court. “We want the CM to tell us why the clash between the women and the MLA took place. Noor Bano and the others were merely requesting for proper water supply during Ramzan,” he said.
Vijender Gupta, leader of the opposition in the Delhi assembly, added that Kejriwal should apologise for the behaviour of his MLAs and the deputy chief minister. “The CM is politicising offences committed by his party members. People had elected them to provide good governance but today, they are at the receiving end. Today’s protest by the MLAs is an attempt to cover up the crimes committed by the members of this government,” said Gupta.
