Amit Shah pays obeisance at Kedarnath, Badrinath

DEHRADUN: BJP national president Amit Shah paid obeisance to the Himalayan shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath on Saturday.

BJP national president Amit Shah paid obeisance to the Himalayan shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath on Saturday. Shah performed elaborate rituals at both shrines in which chief priests were present.

Shah’s first stop was the Kedarnath shrine where he reached through a chopper from Delhi. After that, he took off for the Badrinath shrine. After paying obeisance, he flew to Haridwar for the rally. Party’s state affairs in charge Shayam Jaju and state BJP president Ajay Bhatt accompanied the national president of the party. Several MLAs and BJP leaders were also present. Newly-inducted leaders Harak Singh Rawat and Vijay Bahuguna went separately in a chopper to mark their presence at the shrines.

Dr Devinder Bhasin, media in charge of the party, said, “Amit Shah had a hectic schedule on Saturday. He was expected to be busy on Sunday at Haldwani where he presided over the state executive meeting. More than 2,000 party office-bearers, representatives and workers attended the meeting.”

The party’s state, district and city units in Dehradun were busy making preparations, including ferrying party workers through buses to Haridwar, for the rally in Haridwar the last two days.
