Prominent football journalist slates 'technically and physically inadequate Ireland' after Euro 2016 exit

Ireland exited Euro 2016 this afternoon after losing 2-1 to France in their last 16 tie in Lyon.
It was a noble effort from Ireland, who took the lead through a Robbie Brady penalty before succumbing to two Antoine Griezmann goals in the second half.
There appeared to be a lot of positives for Martin O'Neill to take ahead of the World Cup qualifying campaign but one prominent football journalist disagreed on Twitter.
Michael Cox, who goes by the handle Zonal Marking on Twitter, writes about football tactics for publications such as The Guardian and ESPN.
Immediately after today's match, he offered a very blunt assessment of Ireland's campaign as a whole, and their defending.
Many fans responded angrily to the remarks, while a number of journalists also weighed in on Twitter and a lengthy debate ensued.
