CHANDIGARH: An alert IVF expert of Hisar on Saturday night got a Delhi resident man arrested for seeking sex determination and male child pre-implantation.
According to information, the incident occurred on Saturday when the accused, identified as Krishnu Aryan Bhola, a resident of Vasant Kunj in New Delhi, approached Dr Anurag Bishnoi, an owner of IVF clinic of Hisar.

"He introduced himself as Aryan, a resident of house owned by Mrs. Sharda in New Delhi. He deposited Rs 100 at the hospital counter. He expressed his desire to have the male baby through modern technique of PGD. He seems to have got to know about pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) through which sex selection can be done through internet,’’ Dr Anurag Bishnoi, who owns Hisar’s IVF clinic, said.
"He had no referral slip of any doctor. His motive was clear that he wanted sex selection. He had also mentioned Thailand where PGD is available. I was shocked to hear this and informed the police," added Bishnoi.
Sub inspector Mandeep Singh, the SHO of city police station, added that Krishna was arrested from the spot and he confessed his crime as well. "He is a 49-year-old man having two daughters, aged 19 years and 14 years. During interrogation, he admitted to have forced the medico. We had produced him before the court that has remanded him to judicial custody,’’ said the SHO.
"We have done what we could do to contribute in the fight against female foeticide,’’ said Dr Bishnoi
Haryana’s director general of health services (DGHS) Dr Kamla Singh too lauded the efforts of by Bishnoi. "This is a very good initiative and such efforts made by doctors add to the deterrents put in place by government,’’ she said.
With Jhajjar and Mahendergarh figuring in the top 10 districts of the country having the worst sex ratio, Haryana had been in new for the bad reasons for the skewed sex ration. Consequently, the Union government had launched various schemes from Haryana itself.
