Owen Burrows is considering potential options to step back down in trip with the 2000 Guineas runner-up Massaat.

After failing to see out a mile and a half in the Derby, the son of Teofilo is to be brought back to a mile and a quarter on his next start.

Although plans are yet to be finalised as to where the three-year-old will next be seen in action, the Lambourn handler has outlined both the Group Two York Stakes at York or the Group Three Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock as possible destinations.

He said: "Massaat is fine. He is just cantering away at the moment. We will look for something for him in the later part of July or early August.

"We will try him over 10 furlongs and go from there as it didn't work out for him in the Derby.

"We have not really pencilled anything in, but there is the York Stakes and the Rose of Lancaster at Haydock. These are just a couple of races and we will look at them."

After being forced to miss an outing in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot on account of the soft ground, Raaqy may now have her attentions turned towards next month's Listed Coral Distaff at Sandown.

Burrows added: "If it dries up then Raaqy could go for the mile Listed race on Eclipse day at Sandown, but we would need a dry week.

"I think she handles a little bit of cut but after speaking to Paul (Hanagan), we thought it was too soft for her at Ascot so we made the decision not to run.

"She ran a nice race at Ascot first time out. She looks well and fingers crossed we can get her out sooner rather than later."
