Sudharani's got a bold role coming up

Sudharani, who recently won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress, is set to team up with State Award-winning filmmaker K Shivarudraiah of Maagiya Kaala and Marikondavaru fame. This as-yet-untitled film deals with a bold theme of selling of widows, a practice that is seen in Karnataka. 'When I was approached, I was shocked to know that such a practice exists even today. We need to shed light on issues like this through our films.This is one of the reasons that compelled me to take up this project. Additionally, Shivarudraiah has made films that have earned a lot of acclaim and I am honoured to work with him,' says Sudharani.
