Jaipur: The family members of a 51-year-old railway employee who was brutally murdered allegedly following a dispute over a resort land in Ajmer organized a protest in the city on Saturday.
The family members alleged the police have arrested a minor in the case and are taking no action against some influential people, including one who has political connections, despite strong evidences against them.
The family members have met home minister Gulab Chand Kataria and on Saturday they tried to meet chief minister Vasundhara Raje to demand immediate arrest of all the accused.
On June 21, railway employee Mukesh Joshi, a resident of Ghughara area in Ajmer, was on his way home on his bike when he was intercepted by a group of people and then brutally murdered. The assailants used swords and sticks and pinned him to a wall and killed him.
Joshi's wife, Neelam Joshi, said that her husband had a property dispute with one Bhagchand. "A few days prior to the murder, Bhagchand and several other men came to our house and threatened my husband," said Neelam.
She added that Bhagchand, his son and one Amit Bhanshali, who has affiliation with a political party and owns an automobile showroom in Ajmer, were among the accused.
"Police have arrested Bhagchand's son who is a minor and made him confess to the crime. Other suspects are roaming scot-free. My husband was physically strong. The way he was murdered, it is quite evident that a group of people attacked him. But the police are not investigating the matter further," said Neelam. A protest was organized at Pareek College in Jaipur on Saturday.
