NEW DELHI: Former Brazilian internationals, it seems, have developed a liking for India. After Roberto Carlos last season, there is now talk of another Brazilian great, Rivaldo (in pic), coming to manage an Indian Soccer League (ISL) team in the upcoming season.
TOI has learnt that ISL club Delhi Dynamos are in talks with Rivaldo and former Italian footballer Ciro Ferrara for the post of their marquee manager for the third edition of the ISL.

The two are the leading contenders for the job and the announcement is likely to be made within the next few days as all ISL clubs are required to announce the names of managers by the end of the month. Rivaldo, 44, who often played as an attacking midfielder or as a second striker, scored 136 goals in 253 appearances for Spanish club Barcelona from 1997-2002 and won back-to-back (1998-99) La Liga championship and the 1998 Copa del Ray with them. He later joined AC Milan for a two-year stint.
After starting his professional career in 1991, he went on to win 74 caps for Brazil between 1993 and 2003. The FIFA player of the year in 1999 played a crucial role for Brazil when they won the 2002 World Cup.
Ciro Ferrara, the other candidate, is a former Italian footballer and manager. The 49-year-old has previously coached Juventus (2009-10) and the Italy national under-21 football team. As an assistant coach to Marcello Lippi, he won the 2006 FIFA World Cup with Italy. His most recent position was as manager of Sampdoria. He spent his playing career as a defender initially at Napoli and later at Juventus.
