Hanoi All nine crew members aboard a Vietnamese coastguard plane that crashed last week at sea are confirmed dead, state media reported on Saturday. Four bodies believed to be from the Airbus CASA-212 8983 aircraft have been recovered, Toui Tre News reported. The rest of the crew also perished, said Senior Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan at a press conference. The rescue team lost radio contact on June 16 while searching for two missing fighter jet pilots who crashed in the Gulf of Tonkin near Vietnam's northern coast. The cause of the rescue team's crash has yet to be determined, but Tuan speculated that bad weather was to blame."Weather conditions coupled with the low altitude the plane was flying are thought to be the causes of the accident," he told the VN Express newspaper.
