Six arrested for SIM card fraud

Police arrested six persons from Nayagarh town for allegedly selling of pre-activated prepaid SIM cards at a higher price by forging documents of genuine customers on Friday.

Berhampur: Police arrested six persons from Nayagarh town for allegedly selling of pre-activated prepaid SIM cards at a higher price by forging documents of genuine customers on Friday. Police seized around 235 SIM cards of different companies from the accused during raids, said SP (Nayagarh) K V Singh.
The arrested persons were identified as Narayan Sahu, Braja Mohan Patra, Somanath Sahu, Ramesh Chandra Sahu, Santosh Kumar Jena and Srikant Mohapatra, police said.
Police said the pre-activated SIM cards were used by anti-socials for their criminal activities.
