DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat on Saturday urged the Central government to ensure that the ongoing CBI probe into the sting CD involving him is carried out “fairly and dispassionately”.
Rawat has been quizzed twice in the past two months by the central investigation agency in connection with the sting video which purportedly shows the Uttarakhand chief minister negotiating a deal to win the support of rebel Congress lawmakers for a floor test scheduled in the assembly later.

Rawat also said that a fair probe should be conducted in another sting CD episode in which Madan Singh Bisht, a Congress MLA believed to be close to Harish Rawat, is seen telling rebel leader Harak Singh Rawat that he was instrumental in as many as 12 MLAs being paid money to remain with the Harish Rawat camp.
