migrant labourers would be collected and steps taken against autorikshaw drivers who had no licence.
The meeting also decided to install web cameras in all business shops.
He said that in order to control open sales on road payments and on vehicles, steps would be imitated by the local police with the support of the local administration.
A traffic unit would be established at Kumily, the border town with Tamil Nadu, on the Kollam-Theni National Highway. An integrated police patrolling system would be evolved.
Traffic diversions
The advice of traffic advisory committees in municipalities would be taken for traffic diversions to avoid road congestion.
The police special branch would inquire into atrocities against the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
It would also inquire into the non-completion of houses in Adivasi colonies. Mr. George issued a directive to the special branch to visit all tribal settlements and report on exploitations and financial irregularities within 10 days.
