Mallannasagar, hikes a boon for Congress, TDP

Revanth Reddy took the Mallannasagar oustees issue to the CM's native Medak district.

Hyderabad: The Mallannasagar oustees issue and the hike in power tariff and bus fares have given the Congress and the TD a perfect weapon to attack the TRS government with.

While TS TD working president A. Revanth Reddy launched his 48-hour deeksha at Yetigadda Kishtapur village of Gajwel mandal in Medak district demanding good package to affected farmers, Congress leaders and activists staged dharnas across the state, including in front of the Vidyut Soudha and district collectorates, demanding rollback of the electricity tariff hike and bus fare hike.

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy gave a call to Congress activists to stage dharnas across the state against the anti-peoples policies adopted by the TRS government.

Former PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Rajya Sabha member M.A. Khan, party leaders Sudhir Reddy, Kuna Srisailam Goud and others participated in dharnas and burnt effigies of the CM.

Meanwhile, Mr Revanth Reddy took the Mallannasagar oustees issue to the CM’s native Medak district. “My deeksha is for the farmers whose lands will be submerged due to Mallannasagar project. Poor farmers should get adequate R&R package,” he said.
