Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq today informed the House that wages under MGNREGA have been enhanced from Rs. 164 to Rs. 173 w.e.f. April 2014 in the State.Replying to a question by Mr. Shakti Raj Parihar, the Minister said that 211 dwelling units were taken up under IAY in Doda constituency during last two financial years adding that out of which 59 houses were completed under IAY in the constituency during 2014-15.
The Minister said that the targets for IAY are fixed annually for districts based on targets received from the Union Ministry of Rural Development and distributed among districts on the basis of BPL, SC, ST population and availability of funds.He said 101 new works have been taken up under MGNREGA in Doda constituency during current financial year. He said that the construction work of 35 Panchayat Ghars has been taken up in the constituency against which Rs. 4.09 crore were released by the Government. He said Rs. 2.95 crore have been spent on the construction of Panchayat Ghars and presently three out of 35 are completed. The Minister also assured that rest of the work will be completed in a time bound period.
