Sangihe, North Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The body of Rosalia Gaghaube (51), one more victim of the recent landslides in Sangihe, North Sulawesi, was discovered Saturday.

"The bodies of all victims of the landslides have been recovered," deputy head of Sangihe district Jabes Gaghana said here Saturday.

The last body belonging Rosalia Gaghaube in the Sawang Bendar village was discovered at 4.00pm Central Indonesia Time.

"At around 4.00pm WITA, a search and rescue team discovered the body in the Sawang Bendar village, Tahuna sub-district," he said.

The body was immediately taken to the Liunkendage hospital in Tahuna and then buried.

With this, all the victims have been buried.

"The total number of deaths is five and all of them were female," he said.

The five women died and 40 houses were damaged during landslides in the Sangiher Islands district in North Sulawesi at 5.30am local time last Tuesday.

The head of Information Data Center and Public Relations of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said floods and landslides occurred following heavy rains and tidal waves in addition to the unstable condition of the earth in hilly areas.

Several sub-districts have been affected by the disaster and these included West Tahuna, Tahuna, Manganitu, and Tatoareng, in addition to South Manganitu, Kendahe, North Tabukan, and Tamako.(*)
