    Damlelya Babachi Kahani Movie Review

    Critic's Rating: 1.5/5
The film borrows its title from Sandeep Khare’s popular poem/ song but unlike the song, 'Damlelya Babachi Kahani' (DBH) the film fails to strike a chord.

The film essentially is aimed at bringing a father-daughter relationship to the fore. In doing so, 'DBH' takes one through the hardships that Gajanan Ingulkar (Khare) endures to keep his daughter (Balgude) happy. The protective father sees his daughter in every girl and can’t tolerate injustice towards women. When one night he sees a man molesting a young girl, he loses his cool and kills the man. During his trial, many things, including a certain instance from his young days, are revealed.

What starts as a father’s worry about his daughter’s well-being soon enters the unjust treatment of women. That’s where the film loses its grip. At the most, DBH can be called a heartfelt and genuine but confused attempt. It makes strong statements about the society’s wrong approach and does the same. A suspense element is thrown in an attempt to keep the viewer engrossed but that’s totally unnecessary. Plus, the secret is revealed somewhere in between and after that, the already predictable story becomes crystal clear. It leaves no scope for further viewing.

Besides a few touchy scenes, the film is almost average.
